Build, integrate and test useful agentic applications
CAAD advances learners from using agents to building them. Participants practise decomposing requirements, implementing tool-enabled workflows, connecting approved data sources, testing behaviour, handling failures and packaging a demonstrable solution.
Who should enrol
- Software developers, engineers, automation specialists and technical analysts.
- Computer science students with programming fundamentals.
- Technical consultants and product builders who want to prototype agentic applications.
At a glance
Prerequisites
- Basic programming knowledge is strongly recommended.
- Familiarity with APIs, JSON and version control is helpful; bridging exercises may be provided.
Eight weeks of hands-on agent engineering
Each week combines concepts with guided practice and produces a piece of evidence that counts towards your certification.
- Week 01
Foundations & problem framing
Agentic AI foundations for developers; problem framing; requirements and acceptance criteria.
Lab / deliverableRequirements brief and success metrics. - Week 02

Request detailed syllabusOn completing CAAD, you will be able to:
- Translate a user problem into agent requirements, tasks, tools and success criteria.
- Implement an agent loop with planning, tool invocation, state/context handling and controlled stopping conditions.
- Connect agents to APIs, files or approved knowledge sources using least-privilege access.
- Design single-agent and basic multi-agent patterns with explicit responsibilities.
- Test agent behaviour for correctness, robustness, prompt injection and unsafe tool use.
- Instrument workflows with logs, traceability, cost and latency measures.
- Demonstrate a working prototype with documented limitations and deployment considerations.
Certification is earned with evidence
Your CAAD credential is based on assessed practical work and a capstone — not attendance alone.
Build and demonstrate a working agent
Choose a project and take it from requirements to a tested, documented demonstration. Project choices include:
- Research analyst agent that gathers approved inputs, compares findings and produces a traceable report.
- AI sales-support agent that drafts responses and updates a sandbox CRM only after approval.
- Healthcare information assistant restricted to approved public or synthetic information and escalation rules.
- Smart manufacturing assistant that interprets sample machine events and recommends, but does not autonomously execute, corrective actions.
- Virtual CISO assistant that organises control evidence and flags gaps for expert review.
Certification requirements
- Successful completion of all mandatory labs.
- A reviewable capstone — certification is not based on attendance alone.
- Required evidence: source code or workflow export, architecture diagram, test cases/results, security and privacy notes, setup instructions and a live or recorded demonstration.
What we expect from learners
- Attend scheduled learning sessions and complete the required practical work.
- Use only authorised tools, datasets and accounts; do not upload confidential or personal data to unapproved services.
- Document assumptions, sources, test results, limitations and human approval points.
- Disclose AI assistance in submitted work where required and ensure that final submissions demonstrate your own understanding.

Teaching Agentic AI? The FDP — The Agentic Enterprise Revolution — is a parallel faculty enablement programme. It is not a prerequisite for the four certifications, and faculty participation does not automatically confer CAAP, CAAD, CAAA or CCAO certification; each credential requires its own assessment.
