Architect secure, reliable and scalable agentic enterprise systems
CAAA is the portfolio's flagship technical architecture certification. It develops the ability to design agentic systems and to use agentic methods responsibly in enterprise and technology architecture work. Learners progress from individual agents to orchestrated systems, enterprise integration, trust controls, observability and operating models.
Who should enrol
- Solution, software, cloud, data and enterprise architects.
- Senior developers, technical leads and AI engineering professionals.
- Technology consultants and digital transformation specialists.
At a glance
Prerequisites
- Professional software/solution design experience or successful completion of CAAD-level work is recommended.
- Working knowledge of APIs, data systems, cloud concepts and software architecture.
Twelve weeks from agent anatomy to a defended blueprint
Each week combines concepts with guided practice and produces a piece of evidence that counts towards your certification.
- Week 01
Agentic AI Foundations
Agentic systems landscape; business drivers; fit-for-purpose autonomy; architecture quality attributes.
- Week 02
Agent Anatomy and Design
Planning, reasoning, memory/context, tools, state, policies and stopping conditions; agent design specification.
- Week 03
Orchestration Patterns
Sequential, parallel, supervisor, delegation and specialist-agent patterns; orchestration diagrams.
- Week 04
Multi-Agent Systems
Coordination, shared state, handoffs, conflict resolution, failure containment and collaboration testing.
- Week 05
Enterprise Architecture
Reference architecture; capability mapping; integration with ERP, CRM, data platforms, APIs and existing workflows.
- Week 06
Data, Knowledge and Context
Retrieval, data quality, permissions, lineage, source grounding, context boundaries and retention.
- Week 07
Security and Privacy by Design
Identity, least privilege, secrets, tool permissions, prompt-injection defence, data protection and threat modelling.
- Week 08
Responsible AI and Governance
Risk classification, accountability, human oversight, audit trails, policy controls and compliance mapping.
- Week 09
Evaluation and Observability
Quality metrics, traces, red-team tests, drift, incident detection, monitoring and regression testing.
- Week 10
Deployment and Operations
Reliability, fallback paths, scaling, cost and latency optimisation, versioning, release and rollback.
- Week 11
Economics and Transformation
Build/buy decisions, value hypotheses, operating models, change management, workforce and adoption roadmap.
- Week 12
Capstone Architecture Review
Integrate the blueprint; architecture defence; risk review; implementation roadmap and executive summary.

Request detailed syllabusOn completing CAAA, you will be able to:
- Create architecture views that separate intent/experience, orchestration, enterprise capability and trust/control/observability concerns.
- Select appropriate agent patterns, tools, memory/context strategies and human approval gates.
- Design integrations with APIs, data platforms, enterprise applications and identity systems.
- Specify security, privacy, governance, resilience and evaluation controls.
- Estimate performance, cost, latency, operational risk and value measures.
- Define release, monitoring, incident response and continuous-improvement practices.
- Present a defensible Agentic Enterprise Blueprint to technical and business stakeholders.
Certification is earned with evidence
Your CAAA credential is based on assessed practical work and a capstone — not attendance alone.
Agentic Enterprise Blueprint
Each participant or team selects an industry and produces a coherent architecture package containing:
- Business problem, stakeholders, current-state workflow and measurable target outcomes.
- Use-case prioritisation and explicit boundaries for permitted autonomy.
- Logical architecture, agent responsibilities, orchestration and enterprise integrations.
- Data flow, identity/access model, threat model, privacy and governance controls.
- Evaluation strategy, operational metrics, monitoring and incident/escalation design.
- Cost/value assumptions, implementation phases, dependencies and adoption plan.
- Demonstration or proof-of-concept where feasible, plus a technical and executive presentation.
Certification requirements
- Defend trade-offs and failure handling in an oral architecture defence — not merely present a diagram.
- The final rubric assesses technical coherence, safety, integration feasibility, measurable value and operational readiness.
What we expect from learners
- Attend scheduled learning sessions and complete the required practical work.
- Use only authorised tools, datasets and accounts; do not upload confidential or personal data to unapproved services.
- Document assumptions, sources, test results, limitations and human approval points.
- Disclose AI assistance in submitted work where required and ensure that final submissions demonstrate your own understanding.

Teaching Agentic AI? The FDP — The Agentic Enterprise Revolution — is a parallel faculty enablement programme. It is not a prerequisite for the four certifications, and faculty participation does not automatically confer CAAP, CAAD, CAAA or CCAO certification; each credential requires its own assessment.
